John and his team earned praise for patient design collaboration, attentive listening during construction, and finishing on schedule. Work quality and responsiveness stood out across hardscaping, plantings, and irrigation projects.
Based on limited recent reviews, so treat this as low-confidence.
Sandra delivers polished landscape designs that solve real problems on complicated properties like sloped yards and large plots. Her 3D renderings let clients visualize finished work before building starts, and she stays responsive through revisions and connects clients with contractors and nurseries to move from plan to reality.
The Grounds Guys earn strong marks for lawn maintenance and completed landscape work, with crews known for courtesy and owners Jim and Tina credited for responsiveness. However, larger projects expose systemic gaps: repeated scheduling failures, incomplete quotes, poor coordination between office and field, and irrigation mishaps including water main damage. Customers report no-shows without notice, vague project scopes requiring daily site oversight, and questionable pricing adjustments mid-job.
Across 81 Google reviews, customers rate this Round Rock firm a 5. Most praise owner David for his plant knowledge, clear communication, and creative designs. Reviewers often mention quick responses and a tidy site once the crew finishes. The work covers yard cleanups, sod, regrading, drainage, borders, and stone paths. One review describes a 2-star experience involving scalped grass and damaged lights, which is the only low rating. Several customers say the price felt fair, and a few say the crew did extra work they did not ask for.
